There are three awesome online professional development events for teachers happening in July! I’m participating in all three and hope you’ll join in either the summer teaching conference and/or the summer teacher book clubs. They’re going to be a terrific way to connect with other inspiring educators, learn new ideas, and get motivated for the fall.
The Unshakeable Summer Book Club
When: July 6th-31st, Mondays-Fridays
Where: Online via a private, closed Facebook group
This is online book club is for my brand new release called Unshakeable: 20 Ways to Enjoy Teaching Every Day…No Matter What. We’ll be exploring the 20 ways in 20 days, Monday through Friday for the last 3 weeks in July.
The discussion is going to be casual and fun in a private Facebook group that makes it easy to check in each day to comment or post your own reflections and questions. I’ll be co-moderating with Frankie Robinson: she’s the teacher who runs the wonderful Educator’s Book Club. Frankie and I will be posting about the 20 ways to enjoy teaching, sharing one idea per day. We’ll also be sharing helpful articles, funny teacher memes, and all kinds of great things to help you get motivated and excited for the fall. There’s no commitment if you join–just pop into the group whenever you have time!

The Awakened Devotional Bible Study/Book Club for Christian Teachers
When: July 1st-31st, Mondays-Saturdays
Where: Online via a private, closed Facebook group
This online Bible study for teachers is centered around my book Awakened: Change Your Mindset to Transform Your Teaching and the accompanying workbook called The Awakened Devotional Study Guide for Christian Teachers. This will be the third summer in a row that I’m offering this, and we have many teachers who come back and participate every time. It’s pretty amazing!
Previously I ran the the studies in a private WordPress blog, but I’m experimenting this year and moving this study over to Facebook where it’s easier to add people, post, comment, and interact in general. My co-moderator will be the wonderful Tracy Gidinski, a 6th/7th grade teacher in British Columbia who has completed the study herself and will do an awesome job helping me to respond to your posts, reflections, and questions.
We’ll be reading a chapter a day every day July 1-31, taking Sundays off. I will warn you: it’s deep. Some teachers choose to read Awakened in advance and just complete the Devotional Study Guide chapters in July. This study is about transformational change at the spiritual level, and that takes work (plan on at least 45 minutes per day.) But the teachers who really commit to the study have experienced incredible results in just that one month, and many of them shared how the books helped them keep their enthusiasm for teaching all throughout the school year.
So, if you’re a Christian teacher (teaching in public OR private school), I hope you’ll join us! This study is focused on your own spiritual development and attitude, not sharing your faith at school or with students, so teachers in all classroom settings are welcome. Note that this is the ONLY event on this page which is faith-based: the Unshakeable study and Teachers Leading Teachers conference are secular.

Please contact email@example.com if you have questions or problems. You can get the Awakened and Devotional Study Guide books/eBooks here.
Teachers Leading Teachers Conference
When: July 16th-20th
Where: Online via WebX (you’ll see and hear the presentations in video)
Cost: $149 regular price before discount (see below)
The Teachers Leading Teachers Conference is the first online conference of it’s kind. What makes it so awesome? Every presenter is a current classroom teacher talking about practical classroom strategies that are working with real students across the country. Attendees get access to 20 live presentations from and a digital copy of the recording so you can re-watch at any time and bring back the learning to your colleagues and school leaders. You’ll also get free eBooks from the presenters and conference leaders.
This is going to be an awesome event and though I can’t present because I’m not a classroom teacher, I am an attendee and affiliate, helping to spread the word and amplify the voices of the teachers who are sharing the amazing work they’re doing.
Click here to register for the Teachers Leading Teachers Conference. Use the link here + the discount code ANGELA and you’ll save another 10%.
See you there–I look forward to connecting with you online!
