Hello,
I am unable to access the printables page.
I purchased the book and have been able to access the printables page before.
Is there an issue with the website?
Thank you,
Melanie Calderon
There was a problem after I upgraded to a newer version of Wordpress, but that’s been resolved now. Feel free to email me if you need help.
When I click on where it says to click to buy both books ( Awakening change your mindset to transform your teaching and Awakened devotional) only one book appears on the order form for 30 dollars? This is on this site. What am I doing wrong?
Hi, Darla! You’re doing it correctly. It’s $30 for both books and $5 will be added for shipping once you enter your zipcode. If you look at the product description in PayPal (on the screen where it gives you the $30 price), it says “Awakened and The Awakened Devotional Study Guide.” The books are listed in one line instead of two lines.
Dear Angela,
Thank you for this wonderful find! Our school (Arts Magnet Middle 5-8) will be moving forward this school year with the COMMON CORE STANDARDS. There is so much to learn and we have started working on Quantum Education. The first thing we were told is to think about new ideas for our classrooms. Since I am teaching “Literacy”, which combined Language Arts, Reading, Speaking and Listening, and a plethora of other informational text materials and subject matters. How in the world to I create a classroom for 8th graders that is ‘homey’, and has the look of learning with so many areas that I must cover? We have been told to use lamps, warm colors, get rid of boxes and buckets, and other cartons with materials in them. I NEED my books and I have been moved to a much smaller room in which to work. I can no longer build my circles that I wanted to use for Socratic Seminars, discussions, whole classroom learning and questions, and my morning meetings. I don’t know what to look for or how much to add. Additionally, the classrooms in this building are all different in size and structure. I am overwhelmed and school starts Aug 1. Can you help?
Hi, Paula! Have you seen the section of my website called Creating a Cozy Classroom? (http://thecornerstoneforteachers.com/free-resources/organization/cozy-classroom) That might give you some ideas. I know it’s slightly different in middle school, but the advice you were given about lamps, etc. is spot on. You can work on your classroom throughout the year: remember, it doesn’t have to be a finished product on August 1st. It’s a work in progress that will develop as your students start taking ownership of the room. All the best to you this school year!
Angela,
I wanted to order your classroom book with Amazon Prime which includes 2 day free shipping. However it says on their site it’s shipped in 2-3 weeks. Is that even with Amazon Prime? I wanted to read it this weekend. Thank you for your help.
Sherry
Hi, Sherry! I am not sure why Amazon says that. I doubt it would take that long with Amazon Prime but I don’t have any control over when they ship and can’t make any promises. I do ship all book orders made on my own website within 24 hours.
Hi Angela,
I am having a very difficult time with 28 first graders. There are a number of students who cannot seem to get into the routine of coming in, writing down homework, following rules. Also, I am dealing with multiple behavioral issues and it makes it difficult to teach any of the curriculum. Any advice you give will be very helpful I’m sure.
Hi, Angela! There is a lot of information in The Cornerstone book about routines and procedures. You can also check out this section of the site: http://thecornerstoneforteachers.com/free-resources/routines-and-procedures. With first graders, especially, it take a LOT of practice and reinforcement before students internalize classroom expectations. Don’t give up! It will get easier as the year goes on.
Angela. I need to order your 3e-books for my daughter. How do I do that so she can get them on her I pad or I phone?
Hi, Paula! You can order the books here: http://thecornerstoneforteachers.com/books/the-cornerstone. Scroll down to eBooks and add each of them to your cart. You can get either the ePub or Kindle versions. Both will work with iPads and iPhones.
