Is there a way to get continuing education credits for this? I have to optimize my time and $ while meeting State requirements to keep my certification.

Definitely check with your district on this! Let them know it’s a 6 hour online seminar (including an hour of goal- and purpose-setting before the webinar and an hour of planning for implementation afterward.) You can have them contact me directly if needed.

Angela, I don’t work for a district. I work in a private school, but still need a certain number of CEU’s to keep my State teaching certificate. I was just wondering if you provided some kind of documentation that I could use to say I attended so many hours of professional development education. Thanks.

Absolutely. I’ll upload a certificate of completion to the web page that the webinar sessions are located on, so when you (or anyone else) purchase it, you’ll be able to download and print it out.

Hello Angela,
I may have missed prior information but are you doing a webinar every month?

Hi Angela,

How many credits do you earn for the webinar? Thanks a bunch!

Take care!
Tonya

Hi, Tonya, the certificate of completion indicates that the participant has completed 6 hours of credit. The total webinar screen time is around 4 hours, so including an hour of purpose-setting and goal planning prior to viewing plus an hour afterward to reflect and plan for implementation, it counts as a 6 hour course.

Hi, Angela,
I tried to get to the password protected page to view some of the documents. I was unable to get there. The computer kept going back to the sign-in page. What did I do wrong?

Hmmm. Try refreshing the page in your browser window (go up to the very top, click on ‘View’ then either ‘Reload’ or ‘Refresh’) and then re-enter the password. Make sure you cut and paste the password to access the Purchased Webinars page. The password for the Printables page is different–it’s the last word in the book. :-)

Hi, Angela. I’m the Principal of a small school – 10 teachers. I’m wondering what the terms would be for me to show your webinar at staff meetings or a teacher workshop day.

Thanks, Scott

Dear Angela,
Will you ever visit Chile, South America? I run the bilingual program at a local school in Talca, Chile and would love to know if you could visit us.
Sincerely,

Hi Angela,
Thank you so much for all of the time and energy that you put into your website, book, and other massive projects to help other teachers. I’ve purchased your book, have gained many ideas from it and have reccomended it to others. I’m looking forward to learning from your webinar as well! I noticed that you have a link where one could learn details about a 65% off rate, if you have purchased the book. When I tried to follow the link, it brought me to a password protected page with producables from the book, but no info about the reduced rate. Can you provide more details about that reduced rated?

Oops! Sorry about that – I looked at the page more carefully, and figured it out :)
(Yup, I was one of those kids who needed to be taught to read directions more carefully!)
Thanks so much!!

Hah! Glad you got it. That page IS very confusing, because of the way Wordpress sets up the password protection pages. Sorry about that! :-) Thanks for the great feedback!

Hi, After all the help your book has given me, I’d love to do the webanir. I bought the Cornerstone book last year through Amazon but I didn’t get a password. Is there a way of getting one for the 65% discounted rate?

31 Angela Watson June 11, 2011 at 12:55 pm

Hi, Cee! Yes, the discount is available on the Printables From The Cornerstone Book page. The password to enter the page is the last word in the book (on the Afterword page.)

I teach middle school math, grades 6, 7 and 8. The information on the site recommends your techniques for those teaching up to 11 year-olds. How relevant will the techniques be for middle school teachers?

Reply

33 Angela Watson July 3, 2011 at 8:06 pm

Hi, Joan! Yes, the webinar is designed for teachers of grades PreK-6. I’m sure that much of the webinar info would be useful for middle school teachers, as well, but definitely not catered to that age group. Some of the techniques may be too simplistic for your students. If I had a good recommendation for middle school webinars, I would certainly pass them along to you! Sorry I can’t be of more help.

No, I’m sorry, there isn’t! You can view more excerpts on my YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/Cornerstone4Teachers?feature=mhum. Also, if you purchase The Cornerstone book, you can get the full webinar for $39. I hope that helps!

Hi Angela,

My daughter is in her 5th year as a Special Ed teacher and is very discouraged. With a husband and three children, she has very little time to feed herself spiritually and subsequently feels like a dry well for her middle school students. She has a 45 minute commute to school each way, and I am looking for some encouragement for her in CD form that she can listen to during her drive. Any suggestions?
